The Most Badass Girls in Dragon Ball Z

When it comes to Dragon Ball Z, most fans think of Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza, but let’s not forget the women who brought power, personality, and heart to the series. Whether throwing punches or delivering razor-sharp sass, these ladies proved they could stand toe-to-toe with the guys (and sometimes even outshine them). Here’s a look at the most badass girls in Dragon Ball Z.

1. Android 18 – The Coolest Killer Turned Hero

Elegant, deadly, and effortlessly confident, Android 18 made her debut as one of Dr. Gero’s ultimate creations. She casually dismantled Vegeta in her first major fight and didn’t even break a sweat doing it. Over time, she evolved from ruthless android to devoted wife and mother, without ever losing that no-nonsense attitude. 18’s mix of strength and sarcasm made her a fan favorite and one of the few characters who can still give Krillin a hard time.

2. Bulma – The Genius Behind the Z Fighters

Bulma might not throw energy blasts, but let’s be real, the Dragon Ball universe wouldn’t exist without her. She invented the Dragon Radar, designed the Capsule Corp tech everyone relies on, and even helped build the time machine that Trunks used to save the world. Bold, brainy, and fearless, Bulma stands her ground among gods and Saiyans alike. Whether she’s yelling at Vegeta or bossing around Beerus, Bulma reminds everyone that brains are a kind of power.

3. Chi-Chi – The Fierce Matriarch

Chi-Chi is often remembered as the overprotective mom, but beneath that stern demeanor is a warrior spirit. Let’s not forget, she fought in the World Martial Arts Tournament and held her own! She’s one of the few humans brave enough to scold Super Saiyans, and her iron will keeps Goku and Gohan grounded (most of the time). Chi-Chi represents strength that doesn’t come from Ki blasts, it comes from love, discipline, and unshakable resolve.

4. Videl – The Next Generation Fighter

Before learning to fly or throw Ki attacks, Videl was already a world-class martial artist trained by Mr. Satan. Her determination led her to uncover Gohan’s secret identity, and she quickly became part of the Z Fighter circle. Her journey from city crimefighter to student of Gohan showed growth, grit, and independence. Plus, she’s the daughter of the world’s “champion” but she never relied on fame. Videl earned her power through effort and heart.

5. Launch – The Wild Card of Dragon Ball

Before Androids and Saiyans dominated the story, Launch brought chaos and comedy in equal measure. Introduced early in the series, she was unlike anyone else, a woman with two personalities triggered by a sneeze. One moment she’s the sweet, soft-spoken girl helping around Kame House, and the next she’s a gun-slinging outlaw with a hair-trigger temper (literally).

While Launch wasn’t as prominent in Dragon Ball Z, her spirit left a lasting impression. She could outshoot bandits, stand her ground against fighters, and steal a scene just by sneezing. In a universe filled with planet-destroying power levels, Launch proved that being badass isn’t always about Ki blasts, sometimes it’s about attitude, unpredictability, and a good aim.

Celebrating DBZ’s Most Iconic Female Warriors

The women of Dragon Ball Z aren’t just side characters they’re the backbone of the story. From scientific breakthroughs to moral guidance to straight-up brawling, these ladies shaped the saga in more ways than one. Whether they’re destroying androids or delivering hard truths, they’ve all earned their place among the most badass in the Dragon Ball universe.
